| David Quartararo—Executive Producer |
| David Quartararo grew up on a farm in upstate New York where he learned to appreciate the ways of country living. His passion for skiing steered him to the University of Vermont where he could satisfy both his love of country living and skiing. Unfortunately one cant major in either of these pursuits so he focused on economics and finance. However, the zero degree winters of Vermont took their toll. So David left the cold temperatures of Vermont to experience the equally cold personalities of the Swiss. While there he studied International Finance at the aptly titled Center for International Finance and interned at the World Health Organization
and did a lot of skiing.
After a grueling year of finance, David returned to Vermont where he offset the tedium of graphs by taking every film, television and acting course offered by the somewhat limited UVM film department.
Ignoring the advice of his friends and family, David avoided Wall Street and joined the mailroom at International Creative Management in New York. Within two months (still considered a record by some in the mailroom) he began working for the "legendary" agent Sam Cohn. In 1998 he moved to Los Angeles as a Development Executive for producer Lauren Weissman. While there he helped develop "I Love You To Death" (starring Kevin Kline, Tracey Ullmann, William Hurt and Keanu Reeves), "V.I. Warshawski" (starring Kathleen Turner) and "The Vanishing" (starring Keifer Sutherland). He later became Head of Production at Monarch Pictures and then President of Spie Films where he had multiple films in development at multiple studios.
In 1990, frustrated by the lengthy "development process", he moved into the area of television commercials and music videos. He started as an executive at Propaganda Films, a commercial/music video production company with over $60 million in billings per year with a directorial roster that included David Fincher, Michael Bay, Simon West and Jonathan Glazer. Over the past 12 years he has been the Executive Producer at leading commercial production companies Straw Dogs, Partizan and Supply & Demand representing award winning directors such as Jesse Dylan, Rob Lieberman, Michel Gondry, Tony Kaye and Traktor.
In 2004 David made the fulfilling and often vindicated decision to join Pictures in a Row as Executive Producer. He stills holds on to his country roots by tending his 2x8 vegetable garden on his small but fertile property in the Hollywood Hills.
